The Grammy-winning We Belong Together songstress has sold millions of albums worldwide and her net worth is an estimated $500 million. According to Page Six, her fortune is about to expand even more as she allegedly negotiates a concert contract potentially worth over $30 million with Las Vegas Strip hotel, Caesar's Palace. The Vegas residency would be a welcome addition to Mariah, who has been recently criticised for her live performances. Her short tour around Asia, The Elusive Chanteuse Show, has received mixed reviews. Also, Mariah's performance during the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony hosted at Rockefeller Center in New York City last month was also largely poorly reviewed. Mariah underwent a lot of strife in her personal life these past few months. Last August her estranged husband Nick Cannon announced the pair had separated following six years of marriage. Mariah has remained largely silent about the split, but apparently she is working her way through the emotional pain. "Mariah had a heartfelt conversation with Nick last week and they decided that they needed to put their feelings aside for the twins. Things between them got so toxic after Mariah accused Nick of dating other women too quickly, but now she's realised they both need to move on for the sake of their kids," a source told British magazine Closer previously. The British singer took to the stage in Los Angeles on Sunday night to perform hit Bang Bang alongside Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. At one point she headed into the star-studded audience to get fellow celebrities to join in. A favourite moment was when reality TV star Khloe shook her famous curves while Jessie belted out her hit. Taking to Instagram, she posted a snap of the moment and thanked the 30-year-old beauty for embracing the opportunity. "My fav @khloekardashian so hot! Looking [hot] thank you so much for dancing with me! "She gotta body like an hour glass" damn right!! #americanmusicawards (sic)," Jessie captioned the picture. The 26-year-old star also looked amazing in a gold catsuit on the night. She's currently promoting her latest album Sweet Talker, which was released in October. She's made no secret of wanting it to be a hit in the US and is possibly hoping making so many new friends across the pond will help. 'I'm not abandoning anyone,' she assured her UK fans recently. 'I'm a 26-year-old woman and if I want to live in LA I can. 'I'm British-born and bred. Whether I live in LA, Paris or Taiwan, it's my choice. 'I love my fans in the UK I just feel like they've had me for a long time. 'Any change is hard for them to get used to but they're gonna have to get used to it a little bit, because the US is calling me.' The American singer has been hit by damning comments surrounding her supposed high-maintenance behaviour, which include only being photographed from the left side of her face. While she's spoken at length about how hurtful these remarks have been, the 21-year-old has now decided not to waste time dwelling on them. "I've sort of decided that it's my life and I get to decide what gets my attention. There's so much love and so many beautiful things happening right now. I feel like if I'm not celebrating that every second, I'm wasting my time and taking it for granted. I'd much rather focus on the positives than be concerned with stuff like that," Ariana smiled to British magazine Now. Despite the gossip, Ariana put on a show-stopping performance at this weekend's American Music Awards. She sang a mash-up of hit tracks Problem, Break Free and Love Me Harder and also took to the stage with fellow singers Jessie J and Nicki Minaj to belt out Bang Bang. While Ariana has a loyal fan following, not everyone is singing her praises. Legendary performer Bette Midler recently spoke about how ridiculous she finds Ariana's raunchy music videos and voice. "It's terrible! It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know whos telling her to do it. I wish they'd stop," Bette fumed to British newspaper The Telegraph. "But it's not my business, I'm not her mother. Or her manager. Maybe they tell them that's what you've got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold." The Black Eyed Peas star and her husband Josh Duhamel are the proud parents of 14-month-old Axl and can't wait to celebrate the festive season with him. The 39-year-old singer is pretty sure the tot doesn't understand what all the fuss is about, but she's determined to get him in the mood. "I'm showing him cartoons, like this is Santa," she laughed to Access Hollywood. "He has no idea who Santa is. I said, 'Ho, Ho, Ho.' He just likes to say, 'Ho, Ho, Ho.' I don't know why." Fergie may be busy, but she wants to remember as much as possible about her son's childhood. That means about 90 per cent of the pictures on her mobile phone are of Axl, and she'll doubtless add to those as Thanksgiving and Christmas roll by. On Sunday night the star attended the American Music Awards in Hollywood, where she was quizzed on some of the other performers. The star famously sang about her curves in 2005 Black Eyed Peas track My Humps, and laughed when it was suggested she paved the way for songs like Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea's duet Booty. "I may not have as much booty as some of these girls, I might not be blessed with that, but ya know what, I got a little one. I just work what I got," she laughed. As well as rocking the red carpet in a black Halston gown with thigh-high split, Fergie took to the stage with her new track L.A. Love (La La). It's her first solo work since her 2006 record The Dutchess and she was thrilled to show it off, even though she got into a tangle while trying to remove her jacket at the end of her performance with the piece ending up stuck to her butt. "It feels so good, ya know mommy's ready to have some fun," she said before the song. Well the Einar Stray Orchestra have blended all those here in this curious album. It’s the Norwegian five piece’s second and sees them experimenting with different textures, and soundscapes which while technically impressive is sometimes not that memorable. Starting on a positive note opener Honey is long, dark but lush track, of varying moods and swings. There’s a palpable grimness about this track and it grips to the end. It’s a shame that the band never really reach those heights again. The single and title track while big on the strings and pleasant enough just slips by, as does a good proportion of the tracks here.  Interest picks up with Thrasymachus with its incessant beats and Montreal’s pacey drive is a welcome shot in the arm, with some exquisite harmonies. Qualia is another lengthy track that teeters on the edge but doesn’t quite manage to take the leap. There’s a lot to admire here as the performances are uniformly excellent in particular the harmonies and vocals, and with a complementary production it sounds fantastic. The main problem is that other than a few tracks it just doesn’t engage very well. There’s a distance in the music that makes it hard to really enjoy and as such it’s a pleasant enough album though maybe not one that will bear up to repeated plays. Source: http://www.music-news.com       2014-11-25 03:35:14 The Carnabys http://bgcnaturalproducts.ws/Musicnews&p=D865CFC51531835CE040010AAB015FFF   The Carnabys     Their name would suggest they are a retro mod/Who/Jam cover band; others have suggested the Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin, and Queens of the Stone Age as influences. Hmm, opener and debut single, The Pocket is a high-energy thrash that puts The Carnabys at the more energetic end of the indie sound. Names and disputed influences aside The Carnabys have grafted an album of some charm and diversity with poppers like Come Over To Stay and Keep me on the Run, sitting comfortably with the more intense and complex It’s not the Same.  A complex interplay between the rhythm section drives many of the songs but never gets self-indulgent. The guitars are maybe a little too clean and clinical to really bear comparison with the aforementioned influences though they do beef up on Where I’d Rather Be. Then there’s Jack Mercer’s powerful passionate vocals though they sometimes drift dangerously close towards Tony Hadley’s dulcet tones.  There’s a real sense of vitality about this band and its obvious why they are getting plaudits for their live work. Songs such as the glacial SNIKS and the arena pop of Keep me on the Run are just set to bring down the house. It is good to hear a band that are really trying to rock out and blow out the speakers, and, whether they’re conscious of it or not, experiment too. It takes two or three listens to get it, but once you are past the initial bombast of the album, you pick up on the subtleties of the songs and nods towards other directions, which makes things very interesting for listener and band alike. Perry named and shamed Fawcett after he affronted her at Obelisk Beach in Mosman demanding she pose for a photo in a bikini and he would leave her alone. 'I was stalked by many grown men today as I tried to take a quiet walk to the beach. These men would not stop as I pleased over & over to let me have my space,' she tweeted. 'They told me to make a 'deal' with them. Give them a bathing suit shot and they would leave me be,' she added. 'This is PERVERTED & disgusting behaviour that should NEVER be tolerated, especially by people who do NOT want this.' 'Australian PRESS: you should be ashamed of you paparazzi & tabloid culture. Your paparazzi have no respect, no integrity, no character. NO HUMANITY'. Katy then posted her own photos of 'her stalkers'. Katy singled out Fawcett referring to his 'tiny penis & rather large guy' calling the paparazzo 'a true sicko for taking pictures of us while being naked'. In 2008, Fawcett was the subject of Australian Story. 'As the self-styled 'Prince of Paparazzi', Jamie Fawcett has established a prominent profile in a tough and often controversial business,' the ABC sets up the show. 'Over the last three years he's been embroiled in legal battles resulting from his pursuit of Ms Kidman. 'Tonight on Australian Story, Jamie Fawcett is facing his critics, and speaking openly for the first time since his latest courtroom drama.' Fawcett is a former private investigator who is described in the ABC program as 'slightly dodgy' by photographer Peter Carette. 'We don't need him in this town, we don't want him in this town', Carette said. Carette said Fawcett is the 'negative' in the industry. 'He upsets a lot of celebrities by doing things that we wouldn't do. He would do almost anything to any of the other photographers to stop them getting an exclusive. Certainly we have plenty examples of Jamie causing lots of trouble and he has been a negative to the paparazzi industry per se. He brought a lot of heat and spotlight onto the profession that wasn't there before and there is no need for it.' While chatting with E! News on the red carpet Sunday, the hunky Brit boy-banders couldn't help gushing about their love for one another. "It's exciting to be here again, and exciting to see you again," Niall Horan told Giuliana Rancic. "Super, super excited," Louis Tomlinson added. "It's great to be here." The 1D boys will be performing again this year during tonight's AMAs show. When asked which celebs make them nervous on stage, Harry Styles dished, "Everyone. It's an intense room." Niall added, "I remember last year, Dave Grohl was in the crowd and I remember thinking, 'I'm really nervous.' And we had just met Justin Timberlake for the first time just before we went on. I remember I was really nervous that time."  As for which celeb makes band-mate Liam Payne scream like a 12-year-old girl, Liam turned to Louis and gushed, "You make me scream," before letting out a sexy high-pitched squeal! "OK, that was quite sensual," Louis responded before Liam grabbed Louis in a big bear hug and dragged him off the E! platform. How cute is their bromance?! Meanwhile, the guys also opened up about meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton last week at the Royal Variety Performances in London. "I said, 'Conrats on the child,'" Harry said of meeting the pregnant Duchess. "There isn't a bump," Liam chimed in. "She's so, so tiny. You wouldn't even tell." "I love her," Niall said. "We were really nervous. We were chosen to kind of meet them when we were arriving. We were kind of put in an odd situation. They were really nice, really nice people. Exactly what we would have thought." Catch E! Live From the Red Carpet at 6pm PT, and tune-in to E! News on Monday for all the highlights from the AMAs at 7pm and 11pm! This is the perfect soundtrack for Christmas this year, a smooth evocation of all that makes this time of the year special for young and old. Taken from the 'Engelbert Calling' double album, 'Something To Hold On To is a deceptively simple yet alluring track with a charming and catchy refrain. 'Engelbert Calling' is the legend's 80th album and comes forty five years after his number one single and signature tune, 'Please Release Me'.  The pairing of Engelbert and the highly regarded Canadian singer / songwriter Ron Sexsmith has produced a track of simplicity and depth. Whilst Engelbert has received every accolade available in the entertainment world, Sexsmith too has an ever-burgeoning reputation, growing impact and a host of awards and high profile appearances to his name. Together, the combination is undoubtedly a winning formula. The spirit of cooperation and mutual respect that can be heard in the vocal performances is in keeping with the whole feel of this lush track. With the lyrics urging 'peace and goodwill to all men' and reflecting the dreams of the world's children 'to wake up to a better day and a better day', there's a positivity and optimism about 'Something To Hold On To that will surely resonate with us all. Featuring brand new recordings of classic tracks with some of the biggest and best voices on the planet, all handpicked by the legendary singer himself, 'Engelbert Calling' is an album that celebrates both an incredible career and all that is best in music. With guest stars including Sir Elton John, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson, Lulu, Olivia Newton John, Sir Cliff Richard and even Gene Simmons, the album is a collection that confounds expectations, and then surpasses them! Between them the performers on 'Engelbert Calling' have sold over 1,500,000,000 albums [yes, that's one and a half billion]! 'Something to Hold On To is not only the perfect example of the strength in depth of the 'Engelbert Calling' album but also a wonderful way to usher in start of the Christmas season, and the end of the year, in considerable style. At that time, she said that she no longer can sing and, in a new interview with CBS, has elaborated, saying "It wouldn't sound like anything. I can't get to the note. I can't make any quality sound. I can't arrange pitch. I might aim for a note and hit another one. It sounds like shouting." Ronstadt has been gathering numerous honors over the last year including her induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whose ceremony she wasn't able to attend because of her illness, and the National Medal of the Arts, which was presented to her by President Obama earlier this year. The fact that the illness has robbed her of the voice for which she is being honored is the ultimate irony. Over the course of her career, Ronstadt conquered the worlds of country, rock, pop, opera, Broadway and Mexican traditional music. The vast scope of her vocal talents were unprecedented in the music world. Now, beyond her voice, the disease is robbing her of her quality of life. "It's hard to wash my hair, brush my teeth, and put my clothes on. It's hard to get up and out of a chair." She went on to say that she still tries to walk around her neighborhood on a regular basis but is no longer able to make it down to her local beach in San Francisco. The British punk rocker was one of the biggest names in music during the 80s and had worldwide success with songs such as White Wedding and Dancing with Myself.  Along with his showbiz lifestyle came plenty of drink, drugs and women - even though he had long term girlfriend Perri Lister.  "She didn't really know about [the women]. Thank God there wasn't social media like there is now; it's ruined everything. You can't even buy crack on a side street without the papers knowing. Hopeless," Billy sighed to Q magazine. Billy went on to battle drugs, with crack being his narcotic of choice. After a serious motorbike accident in 1990 he sunk further into addiction and collapsed four years later from an overdose. However the 58-year-old hasn't touched crack for over a decade, kicking the habit in 2003.  "I had a great time, but it would be so wrong for me now. You wouldn't want to meet me if I'd stayed like that. You lose your teeth and everything," he said. In recent years Billy has become a regular on the festival scene and released his seventh studio album Kings & Queens of the Underground last month. He also penned his own autobiography Dancing with Myself which came out in October too.  "When I was young there were no old stars. It was a footballer's lifespan and then playing working-men's clubs up North [in Britain]. Or in cabaret. So I'm just glad there's still enough people who like my music.  "[Being level headed] I think that's to do with coming out of the punks scene. It keeps you grounded because it was all about smashing the star system. I'm not some damaged article. I'm still vibrant. I've had a great life," he smiled. The 43-year-old appeared on hit TV show Saturday Night Live for seven years, taking part in its various funny sketches and helping present. The iconic musician once appeared on the programme and Amy bumped into him backstage after a rehearsal, awkwardly asking him how his summer was. "Prince is a magical being. It's really hard to make small talk with him," she smiled to British magazine Marie Claire. "I was standing next to my friend Amy, who was crying. She's a huge Prince fan. When Prince comes towards you it's really wild. He seemed like a beautiful angel." Often joining the blonde star is her comedy partner in crime Tina Fey, who she will be hosting the Golden Globes with next year for the third and final time. Amy remembers how they met like it was yesterday and has nothing but respect for her close pal. "It was a bit of an arranged marriage. We were both doing improv in Chicago and our teacher said we should be on the same team. I remember being instantly a fan," she recalled. "It was the small moments, walking to class, f**king around, eating at every diner in town; bush-eyebrowed and eating grilled cheese. Really preparing for Hollywood!" Years on both women have reached A-list success, with Amy starring in popular programme Parks and Recreation. She's also released her book Yes Please, revealing there's a reason why she chose to pen the memoir when she did. "I read a lot of books from a young person's perspective. Like, 'This is what the world means to me and this is what I want to do in the world,'" she explained. "And I read a lot of books about a person looking back on their life. But there aren't as many stories from people in the big, thick soup of it." The 23-year-old star has a life many can only dream of, with hits such as Black Widow and I Will Never Let You Down dominating the charts and a small role in the hotly-anticipated movie adaption of Fifty Shades of Grey. While some might think there's nothing she could ask for this Christmas, Rita insists that's not true. "Well, I don't have everything," she assured the British edition of OK! magazine. "I really want a dog, so let's see who listens to that. And I would really like to know how to set flowers, like go to a flower-arranging class..." The star won't be making a festive meal, but that she is good at pretending she cooked.  And before she thinks of the holidays, there's the small matter of turning 24. "Well, my birthday is November 26, so I'm thinking about my birthday first and then Christmas," she admitted. "But I've already thought about my Christmas presents because they're pretty important. I can finally buy my parents something that they've always wanted. I can't wait to go home - I've missed them so much and I'm never home." Fifty Shades of Grey is due for release in February next year and Rita is also working on her second album, with follows 2012's Ora. For now, she's focusing on her tracks rather than thinking about her next big-screen outing, although she does admit she has the "acting bug". "People have been calling a lot [about film roles]," she revealed. "But my focus is the album - it comes out in January - and the single, which features somebody really exciting." There remains a subtlety and delicacy that at times gives the O2 arena an intimacy that belies its 20,000 seat capacity. A wide range of ages gathered to welcome back the Italian supremo, who looked to have lost a few pounds since Music-News.com last met him at the 'Love In Portofino DVD premiere, but none of his charisma. The choir opened proceedings with Verdi’s ‘Vedi le fosche notturne’ before the man himself was led onto the stage by the conductor for Puccini’s ‘Donna non vidi mai’. A variety of guests took to the stage throughout the two set performance with dancing violinist Lindsey Sterling amazing the crowd with her ballerina moves whilst delivering an accomplished rendition of ‘Take Flight’ from her recently released second album 'Shatter Me'. (Check out our exclusive pre-gig interview with Lindsey here). The children's choir who supported him with gusto (not always at the right time) were clearly having a great night as was Britain's Got Talent graduate and Classical Chart Number 1 Lucy Kay.  The set contained all the popular classics you might expect from a wide variety of musical genres with stand out tracks including ‘Brindisi’ from La Traviata, Rossini’s ‘La danza’ and ‘Funiculi funicula’. Whilst at the other end of the spectrum were ‘Love Me Tender’ and ‘Can’t help falling in love’ made famous by Elvis Presley. His ability to modulate his tone to suit these lighter pop classics is an unusual trait amongst big voiced operatic stars. A man of few words, Bocelli let the music do the talking in a night of nostalgia and romance delivered by one of the finest tenors of the generation.  Closing with the enchanting ‘I found my love in Portofino’, his signature ‘Con te partirò’ and ‘Nessun dorma’ the crowd showed their appreciation and bid Bocelli a warm farewell with a standing ovation.  Andrea Bocelli UK 2014 Set 1 (In apertura Carisma) G.VERDI Il Trovatore Vedi le fosche notturne C G.PUCCINI Manon Lescaut Donna non vidi mai A G.VERDI Il Trovatore Di quella pira AC C.GOUNOD Romeo et Juliette Ah, je veux vivre S J.RODRIGO from “Sentimento” Aranjuez con tu amor AVl F.P.TOSTI from “Sentimento” La serenata AVl G.BIZET Carmen Les toreadores Car C.FRANCK Panis Angelicus (con coro bambini ) A cc F.SCHUBERT Mille Cherubini in coro (“””””””””””””””””) Acc G.VERDI La traviata Brindisi ASC Set 2 N.ROTA Amarcord O R.LEONCAVALLO from “Sentimento” Mattinata AVl G.ROSSINI La danza A L.STIRLING from “Shatter me” Take flight Vl S.GASTALDON from “Sentimento” Musica proibita AVl L.DENZA from “Incanto” Funiculi funicula AC ROSSINI-BRITTEN from Soirée musicales Tarantella O from “Passione” Love me tender A E.PRESLEY from Can’t help falling in love Apg F.SARTORI from “Vivere” - Canto della terra ApgC  Encores:  I found my love in Portofino AVl), Quizas, quizas, quizas ApgVl,  Vivo per lei Apg, (ev natalizia) - Con te partirò ASCcc -  Nessun dorma (with finale O sole vita eternita) AC A=Andrea S=Soprano Vl=Lindsay Stirling Car=Carisma O=Orchestra cc=children’s choir C=Coro Source:  http://www.music-news.com       2014-11-23 03:20:42 Mary J. Blige , who spent most of her adult life struggling with alcohol and cocaine , has strung together two solid sober years since last drinking. But she knows herself well enough not to rest easy.  "I've done those things for so long," she says. "I would stop drinking and then I'd start again. This is the second time that I've stopped drinking. It's peaks and valleys, peaks and valleys." Blige also says she felt "connected to [Amy Winehouse] in terms of the darkness", and still believes she might have helped her.  "I would tell so many people, 'I need to talk to her, I need to get to her,' " she says. "Especially when my life turned around and I chose life. I wanted to somehow get to her, to tell her, 'It's OK to choose life.' The 24-year-old singer has a colourful romance history, having enjoyed dalliances with stars including Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles. However, Taylor insists she is the wrong person to ask about the other half, because none of her partnerships have ever lasted.  'I used to believe that you find the one and that's it: Nothing's difficult after that,' Taylor admitted in a new interview with Lucky magazine. "But then again, I know nothing now. I know legitimately nothing about lasting relationship experiences because I don't have them." Taylor also revealed that while a long-lasting relationship is something she hopes for in the future, she has another love in her life right now. The Shake It Off singer joked that her day-to-day existence is mainly fuelled by coffee. "Coffee's a big part of my life,' Taylor said. 'Skinny caramel lattes are a daily thing that I get excited about and I never stop being excited about." "So if I could just find one person who I felt that way about - the way I feel about coffee - then I think I'd be in a content relationship." Taylor's comments come after it was reported this week she had rekindled her relationship with One Direction singer Harry. The pair famously ended their romance on bad terms, but are recently said to have patched things up, and were even allegedly seen at a concert together on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. But asked about the potential reunion during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Friday, Harry admitted many of the rumours doing the rounds are in fact untrue. Asked specifically about a claim he had sent Taylor 1,989 red roses to celebrate the huge success of her album 1989, Harry replied: 'I know nothing about the rumour. I don't know anything about the roses. "I think it might have been someone else and I may have falsely taken [the credit]." The 29-year-old singer has taken on a new kind of sound with her most recent release Ultraviolence. However, Lana insists she never consciously decided to take her career in another direction. 'For me, there really wasn't reinvention,' Lana said in the interview with Maxim magazine. 'That is more the other people's reinterpretation. I feel so much continuity between all my music and all the videos.' Lana looks stunning on the cover of the magazine, with her brunette hair cascading in tumbling curls. And in the accompanying interview, Lana also admitted she has noticed a definite change in the way people see her since she dyed her hair from light to dark. 'When I went darker with my hair, I don't know why, but people took my music more seriously,' Lana said. 'There's a lot to be said for pretending, you know?' Lana hit the headlines this week when a disturbing short film was released which showed her being raped by movie director Eli Roth. The footage was believed to have been something to do with Marilyn Manson, as scenes from his videos for tracks No Reflection and Slo-Mo-Tion are interspersed with the graphic sexual assault sequences. However, Marilyn has denied having any involvement in the film, with his representative Kathryn Frazier telling Billboard: "Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music.' The 32-year-old star split from her ex David Lucado in August after rumours he had cheated on her, but she's already moved on with TV producer-and-writer Charlie Ebersol. Things are said to be going well with the pair and she's even thought to have introduced her new beau to her kids Jayden and Sean, who she has with ex-husband Kevin Federline. But it seems those close to her are wary of her moving on too fast.  "Brit has admitted to pals she's petrified of being alone and hates being single. While Charlie is a great guy, her friends fear she needs some time on her own before rushing in," a source told British magazine Closer.  "Brit insists Charlie is different from all of her exes. He's a TV and film producer, as well as an entrepreneur with his own company. He's also great with kids and has made it clear he's ready to settle down and have a family."  This relationship comes after rumours of a romance between Britney and one of her backing dancers, Willie Gomez, who takes part in her Piece of Me Las Vegas residency. While the blonde star is said to have enjoyed her brief fling, it's more serious with Charlie than it was with Willie. "Britney has known Charlie for years through her dad, Jamie. But after going out for dinner recently, the pair struck up a romance," the insider added. "She had fun with Willie, but she couldn't fight her feelings for Charlie, and things have become serious very quickly." The 22-year-old grew up with siblings Joe and Kevin in band Jonas Brothers and also appeared on the Disney Channel. Disney has helped launch the careers of many young stars, including Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, who have now embraced a sexier image. Nick doesn't necessarily think coming of age in the spotlight is tougher for girls though. "It comes with its own set of challenges," he reasoned to British magazine Very. "They're different but equally challenging. It's just a matter of how you handle it. "I tried to make my transition really natural, not forced. Any time it feels like you're trying to show people something, it feels cheesy. So hopefully it's apparent that each step I've taken has been intentional to set up the next chapter." Since the dissolution of the Jonas Brothers, Nick has signed to a modelling agency, appeared in TV show Kingdom, produced solo music and expressed an interest in designing. He spoke a little about his self-titled album, which was released earlier this month. "I think the biggest thing is going to be my transparency," he shared. "As for specifics of who [lyrics] are about, I like to leave it to the imagination and have it be a bit mysterious. But the subject matter spans from relationships to family and how that's change for me over the last year and a half, two years. "We live in a world now where it's so easy to gain access to people and their lives. You kinda have to be transparent because people will know if it's bulls**t or not." The first time I saw Ms Shaw Taylor was playing an acoustic set in support of Joe Bonamassa as Shepherds Bush and it is wonderful to see how this Black Country born Blues player has developed and from the opening notes of ‘Mud Honey’ she was totally commanding of her audience.  With her trademark pink Telecaster she was ripping out the riffs and soloing like a demon and with now she is completely comfortable with her raw and gutsy vocal style she puts her songs over brilliantly. ‘Just Another Word’ and ‘Watch ‘em Burn’ from her first album demonstrated how she has developed and she played them powerfully but losing none of the subtlety of the Jim Gaines production. The slow and burning ‘Jealousy’ was heart-wrenching and dark but when she came to ‘Wrecking Ball’ from the ‘The Dirty Truth’ album she had a little jab at Miley Cyrus before tearing out a brilliant version of her own song – the crowd lapped it up. Earlier Bernie Marsden had played a terrific opening set of new material from his ‘Shine’ album and some Whitesnake classics and Taylor brought him out for a couple of numbers that had the packed crowd baying with joy: Whitesnake’s ‘Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues’ featured Marsden on vocals and ‘Let It Burn’ from Taylor’s ‘Diamond In the Dust’ album saw the two of them trading licks and building an old-fashioned duel. As Ms Taylor remarked afterwards “That was as much fun as it looked”. ‘Going Home’ saw the end of the set proper and she encored with a gutsy version of ‘The Dirty Truth’. There is a good reason why British audiences have grown to love Joanne Shaw Taylor and it isn't just her looks – she plays with all her heart and no little skill. She plays for the crowd and they lapped it up – can’t wait for her to come back again. The other, Ring Off, joins the former as part of her upcoming box set, Beyonce Platinum. The release comes nearly a year after the 33-year-old shocked the world with the surprise release of her self-titled fifth solo record, boasting 14 songs and 17 videos - one for each track plus three bonus promos. At the time, the star explained she was 'bored' with the traditional methods of releasing music, and hoped her efforts would prove trailblazing. "I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that," she stated. "I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. The pop veteran appeared to be commenting on Kim Kardashian's recent nude shoot for Paper magazine with a post on Twitter on Thursday. In the message, Madonna admitted she is still unsure as to what is considered acceptable on internet sites, when topless pictures are censored. 'Its confusing. Nipples are considered forbidden and provocative but exposing you're a*s is not. #flummoxed (sic),' Madonna wrote. Madonna's tweet came after Kim admitted the shoot for Paper magazine, which saw her attempt to 'Break the internet' by showing off her famous derriere, was a 'token' before she gets pregnant with her second child. 'I have an even better body after having the baby than I did before,' Kim said during an interview on Australia's 2Day FM. 'I'm very confident about my body. It was just a little token before I have to go through pregnancy again.' Kim also revealed during her trip to Australia that she hadn't told mother and momager Kris Jenner about the nature of the shoot. "She does manage me, but I'm pretty in control of my career," Kim said. 'Everyone thinks she's this mastermind and tells us what to do and where to go." "She was actually in Paris with me and I had dinner with her right after the shoot, and I'm pretty private about the stuff that I do until it comes out," she continued. Sir Mick Jagger used to do "very bad imitations" of James Brown. The Rolling Stones rocker co-produced the new movie Get on Up, which is a biopic of the funk musician. It was an obvious choice for Mick, who was always been in awe of the late American star. "I tried some of his moves,' the star told British newspaper The Sun of his early career. 'I did very bad imitations but they were fun. "You're in this phase of your career when you're 19 or 20 when you're basically doing cover versions and copying other people. Everybody did it and, if you got any good, you evolved your own style." Mick has no problem admitting he imitated his idol, and he's also happy to confess he couldn't pull it off. It helped him find his own stage presence, with Mick now known for his strutting dances. Mick also wants to show the huge impact James had on music. The 71-year-old star believes James sometimes gets overlooked, but if people really listened to a lot of modern tunes, they'd hear his impact. "It ripples still. In the early days of hip-hop when nobody cared about sampling, every record had a James Brown scream on it," he enthused. "Afrika Bambaataa [pioneering American DJ] lionised him for a new generation. Everyone in that world knows Brown is considered one of the early groove masters. 'The Funky Drummer riff [from a 1970 song] was taken by lots of hip-hop artists, both young and old. 'Hip-hop artists are getting old! Not quite as old as me, though!' This isn't Mick's only big screen work - he's also involved in a movie about Elvis Presley. The star joked he's been "pigeonholed" thanks to Get on Up, but he's happy to get involved because he loves Elvis so much. Source: http://www.music-news.com/   2014-11-21 04:20:15 Darius Rucker Shepherd's Bush http://bgcnaturalproducts.ws/Musicnews&p=EE6B11F013D9A557E040010AAB014BFC   Darius Rucker Shepherd's Bush Empire - London   This is Darius Rucker's first UK tour since his country career took off spectacularly in the United States - and the audience in London appears to be a mix of people who were fans of Hootie & the Blowfish (for whom he was lead singer) and those that have fallen for his award winning country-pop. Given this lengthy absence (only broken by a support slot for Brad Paisley and a performance at the Country To Country Festival over the last few years) it is no surprise to see Shepherd's Bush Empire packed full. It's perhaps also no surprise - given this demographic - that the set includes a few old Hootie favourites. One of which Rucker explains was the first country song he wrote when he was a kid - Let Her Cry. It shows how his move to Nashville was perhaps less surprising than some see it - given that his former band were heavily influenced by country-rock. Solo material like True Believers leans heavily on his Nineties style, but the likes of Souther State of Mind are far more obviously country. The biggest cheers of the night are for those country anthems, the likes of Don't Think I Don't Think About It and It Won't Be Like This For Long from his debut country album are surrounded by newer material, including the cheeky and overly catchy 2014 single Hometown Honey.  The overall mood is far less 'country' than some gigs featuring Nashville's finest - with hardly any cowboy boots in sight and only two stetsons spotted. The mood is somewhat subdued for much of the show - until a rousing encore featuring Rucker's cover of Wagon Wheel and his excellent take on Champagne Supernova. This is a gig which underlines how easy the cross over from certain genres is. After all - Taylor Swift's taken some of her country audience with her into pop, while Rucker's taken some of his rock fans into country. The only mystery - after Dariusseeing a performance like this in front of a packed venue - is why country music still has the stigma of uncool in the UK. The audience here is totally middle-aged. In the US the profile would be a lot younger. It's a mystery very few of the audience in London care about. They're just happy to have finally got to see their man. The Australian singer took to Twitter following reports that she and Jennifer Lopez had been asked to tone down their upcoming performance at the American Music Awards. According to TMZ.com, Iggy and Jennifer were making ABC executives 'nervous' by their plans for the rendition of their collaborative track Booty. However, Iggy insists she hasn't been told anything of the sort, and adds that she and Jennifer have yet to even rehearse the performance. 'Im not sure if the 'executives' are 'worried' about me and jlos performance. lol. i haven't even been to a rehearsal for it yet so. 0.0 (sic),' Iggy tweeted. 'We haven't been asked to make any changes and there are no plans to expose anyones nipples or vaginas. but.. okay tmz if you say sooooo.' However, Iggy also reassured viewers that it won't be an entirely modest performance either. Fans of Iggy and Jennifer were stunned by their provocative video for the track earlier this year, which saw the pair gyrating in tiny black leotards. 'With that being said, we aren't performing in turtleneck sweaters either.. hahahahaha ;-) (sic),' she concluded. In addition to performing at the star-studded event this Sunday, Iggy has also been nominated for a staggering six awards, including Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Favourite Female Artist. However, someone who won't be there to support Iggy on the night is her boyfriend Nick Young. Unfortunately Nick, who plays for basketball team the Los Angeles Lakers, has a game on the same night. The theme was the Mexican day of the dead which is a day split between remembrance and celebration. The Festival chose to celebrate rock and roll! Slaloming between the results of excessive drinking the night before, it was hard to make your way through Camden on Saturday. Full of the usual crowd of tourists, the streets gathered rock-and-roll fans from all ages and all origins eager to celebrate their favourite music. The concerts started at noon and ended late in the night, with the banging Blood Red Shoes and Magnus Major. Some venues were definitely well chosen for the day: the Electric Ballroom, the Barfly and the Underworld are all adapted scenes for up and coming artists. Dead! played at the Barfly, in a room filled with all sorts of music-lovers, eager to witness the energetic band perform many songs including their latest single Phantom. A bit later, InMe performed at the Electric Ballroom in front of an audience made of fans. The set was amazing and Dave and his band set the room on fire, to the great delight of everyone present.  Promoting their latest album, The Tide is Turning, Colt 45 were at “Our Black Heart” for half an hour. The crowd was composed of fans and newcomers, dancing energetically to the music. It was quite an outstanding gig! The highlight of the festival this year was probably King Charles: his music is of a new genre, mixing ska, rock and reggae. He received a very warm support from the audience and gave an hour-long set that will linger in minds for some time. A couple hours after the last concert, the bars were still full of music lovers and artists mixing with their fans. King Charles was even seen enjoying a pint at the Camden eye!  The 2014 edition of the Nightmare festival ended just like a dream. According to Sarah Skinner, “Although every other winner was given airplay after the awards on Paul Jones Radio 2 Blues show, the Red Dirt Skinners were noticeably absent. Not even a name check. Paul chose to play a track which featured one of the nominees in my category instead”.  The Red Dirt Skinners are not lying down and giving up. Sarah has emailed Paul Jones, as have many of the fans to play a track on his Radio 2 Blues show and has stated that they will happily play a live set for him on the show. There has been no response. “You have to see the funny side of it” says Sarah, “We’ve been featured in every UK Blues magazine and our ‘Live In Aberdeen’ album was featured on dozens of radio shows – Bob Harris has even asked about a live set for his Whispering Bob TV show. We’ve been reviewed and featured in music magazines across Europe and North America. The Skinners said “It’s not that we haven’t decided which genre we are, it’s that we’re pro-actively developing a whole new sound that incorporates all the music that we are capable of and without limiting what we can offer the listeners but surely there is enough Blues for Paul to play us?” Gigging ceaselessly, they have played Blues shows, folk gigs, festivals and Country Music shows up and down the length and breadth of the UK, they have played all over Europe and are booked to go to the US & Canada for 2015.  The duo have just released their new album ‘Live In Aberdeen’, recorded on their recent Scottish tour, and are calling for listeners to make up their own minds. “If you like the album and you think we’re Blues then write in to Paul Jones and ask him, ever so politely, to play us” Source:  http://www.music-news.com/    2014-11-20 15:05:15 Rihanna's 'RPatz friendship to http://bgcnaturalproducts.ws/Musicnews&p=D865CFBEFFB7835CE040010AAB015FFF   Rihanna's 'RPatz friendship too much for twigs'     FKA twigs reportedly threw Rihanna "a death stare" when she flirted with Robert Pattinson recently. Barbadian singer Rihanna and Twilight hunk Robert have been linked in the past, although she publicly slammed the rumours in a Vogue interview. However, it's claimed she made a beeline for him during a recent night out in New York City - which was awkward as he was with his new love FKA twigs. "She [FKA twigs] had just come from performing a sold-out show at music venue Terminal 5, so she was tired and sitting on one of the VIP couches," a source told British magazine Heat. "But when Rihanna got there and started acting flirty with Rob, it didn't take long before she was on her feet and standing next to him, giving Rihanna the death stare. She's not the kind of girl to let Rihanna flirt with her man in front of her." Initially Robert was said to be happy to see Rihanna. However, he didn't realise her behaviour wasn't going down that well with his girlfriend. "Rob was pretty tipsy, so when Rihanna started hugging him and hanging off him, he didn't seem to notice how uncomfortable twigs was getting," the insider explained. Things soon mellowed out though and Robert and his partner - real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett - couldn't be closer. They are thought to be living together and he has accompanied her to shows in Europe too. "Things are getting very serious between Rob and Tahliah. It's completely exclusive and Rob's crazy about her. There's no way he'd risk it for anything," a friend of the actor explained. Source: http://www.music-news.com/     2014-11-20 14:58:13
